We are building the Oslo Spektrum of the future

Oslo Spektrum is in full development. The project involves establishing a new congress and cultural stage, a new meeting place with restaurants and cafes and a new office building as an extension of the current arena. The construction project will be completed in the fall of 2028. In connection with the construction project, the arena will be closed from June 19th, 2025 to September 1st, 2026.

In the period from fall 2026 to fall 2028, we will have events as before, in parallel with the development. Upon completion of the project, we will be able to offer concerts, shows, conferences, congresses, and more on two separate stages. The new Oslo Spektrum will give everyone even more experiences and events to look forward to!

What is being built?

New congress and cultural scene: A brand new hall with a capacity for around 3,000 people, giving Oslo the medium-sized stage the city has never had.

Byhallen: A new 800 square meter meeting place facing Sonja Henies plass. Restaurants, cafes and areas for events, conferences and culture – open to everyone, also outside concert times.

New office building – Over Spektrum there will be an office building with over 1,000 workplaces right next to Norway’s largest public transport hub.

Sonja Henies plass: The square will be upgraded with a new design, better accessibility and a new subway entrance from Jernbanetorget.
